Bio: Liu Haifang, PhD (History), Peking Univeristy, is an Associate Professor in the School of International Studies, Peking University. She previously worked for the Institute of West Asian and African Studies (IWAAS), the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and a visiting scholar at the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague. She serves as Deputy Director &General Secretary of the Centre for African Studies, Peking University and as the Vice President of the Chinese Society of African Historical Studies. She is also a member of the SSRC China-Africa Knowledge Project’s Working Group.
