Bio: Professor Li Anshan is professor of the School of International Studies at Peking University. Professor Li’s interests cover China-Africa relations, African history, colonialism, overseas Chinese, comparative nationalism, and development studies. He holds an MA from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a PhD in History from the University of Toronto. He is currently vice president of the Chinese Society of African Historical Studies, vice president of Chinese Society of World Ethnic Studies, and deputy director of Center for African Studies at Peking University.
