Bio: Dr. Daouda Cissé is a research fellow at the China Institute at the University of Alberta; he previously served as a research fellow at the Centre for Chinese Studies, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He completed his master’s degree in Foreign Languages Applied to Business and International Trade at Gaston Berger University, Saint-Louis, Senegal. In 2006, he was awarded a scholarship to study Chinese language and start a PhD program in Economics at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in Wuhan, China. In December 2010, he completed his doctoral thesis, “Influence of Globalization on Trade: The Case of China about Imports and Exports with African Countries.”
